Indirect Resins - Bonded Resin Inlay / Onlay

Bonded Inlays and Onlays offer a simple method of restoring Premolars and Molars when decay is too big for a filling, but too small for a Crown. Dr. Fischer will use Resin Inlays / Onlays, which are tooth colored, Natural - Looking Material to restore Larger cavities in back teeth, replace old or unattractive "Silver Fillings", or As an intermediate Restoration between Fillings and Crowns..

Appearance - Appears as a natural tooth
Strength - Indirect Composite Bonding Rivals the strength of " Silver Fillings ". Unlike a Silver Filling, a bonded Inlay / Onlay adheres to the tooth, making it less likely to break. Since the Resin Restoration is cured by heat and light outside of the mouth more polymerization occurs making a stronger restoration than a conventional direct resin
Sensitivity - Less sensitivity than conventional Restorations since the bonding seals the prepped area of the restoration, with less shrinkage and less separation from the tooth surface.
Tooth Conservation - In Bonding a smaller amount of tooth structure is removed as compared to "Silver Fillings " and Crowns.
Economics - By performing Indirect Boding instead of Crowns or Porcelain Inlays / Onlays you save money. You may still need to do a crown in the future ( 5 - 10 years ).

Resins- Resin Repairs

Many times when we have a resin with a marginal breakdown we can repair the margin with out having to replace the whole restoration. This allows for a more economical approach that allows a patient to have dental health and esthetics without excessive trauma to the tooth.. This is not alway possible with other restorative materials. As in the case below no anesthetic (shoots) were used and both teeth were repaired in less that 20 minutes.
