Dental Implant Surgery
|
Dental implants are a surgical procedure where an oral surgeon places a screw like post in the jawbone, that serves as the roots of missing teeth. After the post is inserted and healed, an oral surgeon can then create an artificial tooth around the post. Implants are made of titanium, which naturally fuses with your jawbone. For this reason implants wont slip, move, make noise, or cause bone damage. The materials used to create implants do not decay like natural teeth do, making them the most permanent solution to missing teeth.

Tori Removal Surgery ( Torus Mandibularis)
Torus Mandibularis ( tori, torus ) is an outgrowth of bone in either arch of the lower jaw, or jawbone along the surface nearest to the tongue.
Though not everyone develops tori, it is perfectly normal and can be caused through many factors including, genetics, environmental changes like a local irritation, bruxing or grinding teeth, or teeth that are in malocclusion, also known as an uneven bite. Some tori stay small, benign and do not require treatment. Other tori, or larger excess bone growths may start to cause irritation and interfere with dental appliance, oral hygiene, or space for your tongue requiring surgical removal or reshaping. Depending on what caused the torus to develop, it may recur, however the growth is usually slow and there is a small chance that re treatment may be necessary. |
Reasons for tori removal or reduction include:
